Strange Happenings In The Ideal House

Hello Everyone,
 Well it seems something unusual is happening in the Ideal household, shall we go have a look?
   Hmm, the children are playing in their bedroom, nothing to unusual about that.

 Tommy wants to go outside and ride his bike, Tammy decides to go outside too, but when Tommy ask her if she would like a ride on the handlebars she says no because someone has to take care of her pumpkin......Tommy rolls his eyes, girls are so weird!!

Mother calls Tammy to come inside and practice her piano, Tommy follows and aggravates his sister by threatening to take the pumpkin, finally mother tells Tommy to stop bothering his sister she needs to practice!! Father doesn't know what to think?!

That night at the dinner table Father tells Tammy to stop playing with her pumpkin and eat her dinner!

After the children have left the table and gone to get ready for bed, Pete asks Patti if she has noticed  that Tammy is playing with a pumpkin? Well of course I've noticed says Patti, how could I not? She takes the silly thing everywhere! Don't you think this is odd behaviour asks Pete, didn't we just buy her skates, a new doll, books and several other toys for Christmas? Well you know how children are and if she's happy playing with a fall decoration, whats the big deal? Well it just seems a little odd, says Pete, have you asked her why she is playing with the pumpkin? No but I will dear if it makes you feel better answers Patti.
 Patti heads upstairs to tuck the children in.

When Patti gets upstairs the children are already in their beds and Tammy has got her pumpkin in the bed with her. Tammy, says Mother, don't you think its time to put the pumpkin away with the other decorations until next year? Oh No Mommy , you can't do that, how will the fairy God mother find it if it's in the attic? Cinderella needs her coach to get to the ball Mommy or she'll never meet prince charming and then she'll be stuck with the wicked stepmother and sisters forever!! OH I see says Mother,  understanding finally  dawning.  Mother gently explains that Cinderella is a fairy tale and that its just make believe and there is no such things as fairy God Mothers and magical pumpkin coaches, but try as she might, Tammy is not convinced and insists upon keeping her pumpkin ! Oh well sighs Mother they are only children for a little while and she settles down to read Tammy's favorite bedtime story, Cinderella once more. As the children drift off to sleep Patti thinks to herself, Fairies indeed!!  If Only!!

Mother heads back downstairs to tell Pete why their daughter has been dragging a pumpkin around when suddenly out of no where this thought just pops into her head....

She knows just what she needs to do, so she tells Pete she will be back in a jiffy and grabs her purse and heads out the door

Mother is back in a flash with her prize, and she quietly makes her way into the twins bedroom, where she will make the switch.. the toy coach and horses for the pumpkin!!

Back downstairs, Pete congratulates her on being such a clever Mother, I just don't know how you think these things up says Pete! Meanwhile upstairs............

Meet a few other doll friends

Hello Everyone,

  I do hope you are all doing well out there in blog land!! First of all I want to ask you  what you think of my new look for my blog? I finally just jumped in and stumbled around until I figured it out, it only took me about 5 1/2 Hrs. Yes I can see some of you computer saavy people laughing out loud right now :) What I still haven't figured out , is how to make it so people can just follow me on blogger, not circles, maybe I just don't know what they are calling the link button? Anyway if any of you can tell me, I would appreciate it, since I really don't understand the whole circles thing!

  Well today I thought I'd show you some pictures of a few dolls  that I have come to own recently, this first one is a lovely bed doll from the 1920's. I found her at Renningers flea market for only $25.00, usually these dolls are around $75.00 or higher, so I felt she was quite a deal!

 This little doll was actually one I bought at auction to sell in my booth at the antique store,after a few months she hadn't sold and I brought her home, thinking I'd take her back after a period of time,but now I love her and I think I'll keep her, Hee Hee.

 This is also a doll I bought to sell at the same time as the one above, this one is a Franklin mint, not really antique , but vintage from the early 1970's' I love the case she came in with all the wedding memorabilia around her, I have the glass front open so I could take pictures. She's hanging on the wall above the one I just showed you.

 And last but not least this little German doll was bought from an estate sale where the lady who owned her told me the dolls story. The lady was in her eighties and was having to downsize to move in with her daughter, she told me she had owned the doll since she was around 10 yrs. old. she had received the doll from an Aunt who had owned it from her childhood, so she knew for sure the doll was over 100 yrs. old. I asked her what she had named the doll since she had owned it since childhood, but she said she had never given the doll a name, since she really was never allowed to play with it, apparently her Mother put it in a cabinet to preserve it until she was older. Her daughter suggested she tell me what her own name was since it was an unusual family name and so now the doll is named Natholyn in Honor of the woman I bought her from.

Meet Raven and Little Romy

Hello everyone,

     I hope everybody is doing well out there in blog land, is the weather treating you nice? I know some of our northern neighbors have been having a difficult winter, but hopefully you all still have power! 

Today I thought I would introduce you to some new characters in my mini drama. This is Raven the gypsy women and Romy the pretty little blonde girl that she says is her daughter!?

There seems to be a lot of mystery surrounding these two, they live in an old servants house on the Valentine property. Dr. Valentine discovered them camping on the estate and offered them the old servants house in exchange for some of Raven's Herbal medicines for his patients ( I haven't found the right house yet, so just pretend with me ) She also gives the Valentine's Eggs from the chickens she keeps and home spun yarn from her sheep.

 It's Romy's job to collect the eggs everyday. It seems one of the sheep has wandered over to see whats going on, is that naughty sheep eating the flowers?

 As you can see Raven's chickens are thriving and the hens are in the nesting boxes laying eggs!

This was the chicken coop that came from the estate sale where I bought that huge haul of miniatures, I positioned all the chickens with a little wax so that they would stand up or sit in the nesting box ,unfortunately this picture doesn't show the nesting boxes very well. I also added a little bit of Ivy, some dried flowers and sunflowers to a few spots on the outside of the coop. Well that's it for now, but you'll hear more about these characters in the future!! A Mini Update

Hello everybody,
   I thought I would give you a quick update on Grandma and Grandpa Hart's House. In case you don't remember, that's Victoria Valentine's parents, they will be living in the mother in law house on the Valentine property, which is a slightly smaller version of the big house. Grandma and Grandpa have been living in the big house with Victoria and Conrad while work is being done in their house, needless to say while the Valentine house is a home filled with great love :)  everyone is happy that Grandma and Grandpa and their 3 spaniels and their cat can now move into the in law quarters. There is still a lot to be done but Grandma, Grandpa and myself thought we would give you a little tour anyway.  Till next time, love and blessings to you all!

 This is Grandpa's library, still need rug and pictures. everything else I already had from the miniature estate sale I went to, you can read about that in my blog called miniature mania.The desk came from Victoria's house.

 The parlor is made up of a couch that came with the Valentine residence, a fireplace I bought for the Valentine residence and didn't like it there, table from estate sale chairs and piano bought recently.

 kitchen doesn't have a stove yet, still looking for just the right one. I have dishes and food just haven't put them in there yet since I will have to take all this stuff out again to finish installing lights once I buy them.
Bathroom fixtures came from estate sale and I attached faucets and toilet seat from another set that came with this house.  well that's all folks!!

A Child Hood Friend

Hello everybody,
     Well I didn't quite get my valentines post in did I?  Valentines day was my 23rd anniversary and the day after was my great nieces wedding, so it turned into a rather busy weekend. Happy belated Valentines everybody, hope you had a day filled with love, family and blessings.
      Do you remember your favorite toy friend? Did you keep it all these years or has it long been lost? Well I had this doll and she was one of my most cherished childhood possessions, she was the doll that slept in my bed at night, that went with me to all my friends houses, the baby who played a central part in all my play house dramas and the doll who comforted me when I was upset, sad or sick. She was my friend, well like a lot of child hood friends, I eventually out grew her, but not the memories she represented, so she stayed with me through out my teenage yrs. When I got married she made the move with me, but eventually she got packed away in a plastic bag with some other keepsakes. Then disaster struck, one day during cleaning out a room, she accidentally  got put into a shed where she mildewed and was ruined. I was upset but she was beyond repair and ended up in the trash. Years later when I was remarried to the wonderful man I'm married to now, I started to keep my eyes open when we'd go out antiquing, thrifting, auctioning etc. and sometimes I'd see a doll that was close but not exactly the same. Well about 2 wks ago it finally happened, we were browsing around this little antique shop we had just discovered, and there she was, that familiar face I knew so well!! Of course I bought her and except for the clothes(someone redressed her quite beautifully) she is the exact same doll. Now to a collector she would have very little value, as she is not an antique or a famous maker doll, she is vintage from the early seventies, but she was just a common toy. To me she's priceless! She now has pride of place on my bed. Here's to happy memories and childhood friends!! Till next time, love and blessings to you all,

catching up!

Well hello everyone,
    First of all, a big thank you to Myrtle Mayhem for solving my problem with picture loading, it was as simple as using google chrome, problem fixed, Yeah! Since I haven't posted in a few weeks, I thought I'd show you all the pictures from my great nieces bridal shower that took place a few weeks ago. Savanah is getting married this Saturday and it has been a whirlwind week for her and her mom, I'm sure!! Some of you probably have already seen pictures on my nieces blog, sunny skies and sweet tea, if not go on over and visit her, you will enjoy it I'm sure! The next weekend after that, my church gave me a lovely honor, they've only done this twice so far, so truly I felt privileged to be a part. They gave us this little statue, it's called the divine servant, its a representation of Jesus washing the disciples feet, these were given to people who serve in the church in some capacity. I've been attending this church for 6+ yrs. and I can truly say I have learned more about the word of God and who I am in Christ, in this 6 yrs. than all the yrs. spent in other churches!!
I feel blessed to have my Pastor and his wife and indeed my whole church family in my life. Truly God has blessed me!!  If any of you dear readers out there do not have a church home I would strongly encourage you to find one. We all need a place to learn and grow in Christ and to belong to a local body! Well thats all for now, I'll be back to wish you a happy valentines day, so till then, love and blessings to you all!!

Hello Everybody,
               Well I just wanted to check in with everybody, say hi and let you know I haven't given up blogging I'm just having difficulty getting my pictures to load! I can get the pictures to open up fine but when I try to add them to the blog they just get frozen with the little color wheel going round. I end up having to close out of blogger. If any of you know how to fix this problem please let me know. As you all have probably guessed by now, I am technologically challenged, Ha Ha, so any suggestions you have I would really appreciate.
