It's a most delicious day here in Florida, the kind of day where the air caresses your skin with chilly fingers and the sun shines brightly through the trees, causing the leaves to shimmer like sequins in the wind, Oh yes a beautiful day of possibilities!
And as I sit sipping my tea, my eyes fall on the mementos of loves special day and I ask myself what shall be it's fate? Will it hold the overflow of jewels, or maybe the evidence of celebrations past? Perhaps I will turn it into a shadow box, with lovely lace and flowers and tiny bride and groom, and as I consider the possibilities my mind has a gentle muse.
I slip back to a time long ago and a little girl who fell in love with the most beautiful heart shaped box she had ever seen, it was lavender with satin ribbon and lace ruffles and right in the middle was a glorious orchid. Oh how the little girl coveted that box. but alas it was not to be, as the older sister simply wouldn't give it to her!! It's OK Bonnie, I forgave you-hehe!
Then I think to myself, I could escape into one of my favorite books
And I could skip away with these guys, deep into the forest where the fairies live,
(I made this fairy cage many years ago)
I could slip into the fairies lair, sip tea, eat cake and hear the stories of the enchanted forest.
Or maybe I will skip right on into spring!
Yes, I could hop right on over to Easter and dive into all that pastel deliciousness!! I could cavort with the bunnies and the chicks and dance in the wind with the butterflies
And then later I could wake up the mermaid from her long winter nap
And I could slip into a warm candle lit bath, while she tells me the ancient secrets of the deep.
And then I will pause and give my heavenly Father thanks for giving me so many things to enjoy!
Oh yes my lovelies, it's been a day fraught with possibilities!
And what about you my friends? what will you be doing this weekend? Oh please do leave me comments and let me know what your possibilities are, won't you?
Till next time,
Love and blessings to you all,
Teresa
Oh we have had some beautiful days haven't we? It looks like you have had quite the wonderful day. My favorite ending to a day is always a bubble bath! Amber is coming over today and we are going to a few antique malls as Frank is out of town. I can't wait.
ReplyDeleteLove you,
Amy Jo

Hi Teresa,
ReplyDeleteHow surprised I was to see the Victorian Family Celebrations book on your post, I have that book and I LOVE it!! Your post was wonderful and that fairy birdcage is an excellent idea, how cute! Your candy box looks great with all those lovelies in it and cute little box with the seashell too!
Happy Saturday!
Gina
Thanks Gina
DeleteI have to say I adore that book also and can spend hours lost in it's pages dreaming of times past and figuring out how to bring some of that celebration into my own life! Hope you will have a lovely possibility filled weekend :-)
blessings to you
Teresa
Would you like my real or imagined plans? LOL
ReplyDeleteGrandmommy,
DeleteWhich are more interesting? HeHe
A bubble bath is always a possibility around here and usually a reality for me after a day working outdoors. Candles lit, bubbles , and a good book to read in the tub are the perfect ending to a day enjoying my new lambs and baby chicks. You're so right, God is so good to us !
ReplyDeleteOh yes Kathy, nothing like a nice hot bubble bath to wash away the cares of the day!!
DeleteBlessings to you,
Teresa
Theresa what a lovely post.....any of the possibilities you suggested sound wonderful. l really love the fairy cage, it's so very creative. Hope your weekend was every bit as wonderful as your imaginings.
ReplyDeleteThank you Bron, I'm so glad you liked the fairy cage!

Your fairy cage is just wonderful! Thinking of warm FL adventures and feeling a tad bit jealous!
ReplyDeleteThank you Kim, I had a lot of fun creating the fairy cage, actually I created several, but that's the only one I still have. I don't blame you for feeling a little jealous....it's been quite the winter there where you are BRRRR. Here's hoping you stay warm my friend!
